Workshops: spiritual and personal growth

NOTE: We can bring any of these adventures of self-discovery to you. Contact us if you have a group of 6 or more and would like to schedule a workshop.

A Ritual of Remembering

Many of us are so busy working, raising children, maintaining relationships, caring for a home and otherwise DOING that we forget who we really are. Yet being our authentic selves is what makes us each unique -- and it's the only thing that allows us to fully share our gifts with the world. This workshop is an excursion into "re-membering" who we really are (and assisting others to do the same) through ritual, rhythm and mask-making.

Participants will have an opportunity to identify, honor and then "take off" the masks that they typically wear, replacing them with a new face that is a representation of their true face. The experience will culminate with a celebration during which participants dance with -- and as -- the deepest, most glorious essence of self. All mask-making materials are provided.

Coming Home: A Return to Essential Nature

We are a part of nature, and nature is a part of us. Reconnecting to the nature "outside" facilitates a deeper connection to the nature within -- to the truest, deepest, highest essences of ourselves.
This mini-retreat into nature is both celebration and homecoming. We'll utilize practices borrowed from the ancient tradition of the vision quest, from depth and eco-psychology, and from the innocence and wonder of childhood to fully experience living on and being held by the Earth. We'll open our hearts to the
myriad other beings who share the planet with us -- the 4-leggeds, the winged ones, the rock and tree and plant people -- and discover the joy of true belonging.
Join us to experience the magic that is your birthright, and feel the Earth and your sisters and brothers supporting you!

Seeking Wholeness:
Meeting and Embracing the Shadow

Carl Jung coined the term "shadow" to refer to those parts of ourselves that we're consciously unaware of. Our shadows typically hold qualities or characteristics that were "shamed out of us" as children -- and yet that remain a part of us, influencing not only our self-image bur also our actions. Amazingly, our shadows often hold some of our greatest light, as well -- the strengths and gifts that the world longs for and that our soul yearns to manifest.
The practices of "shadow work" allow us to lovingly and compassionately shine a light into our own darkest places, bringing to consciousness those parts of ourselves previously shrouded in shadow. We'll use visualization, dialogue, dyads, journaling, drumming, walks in nature and other techniques to meet and "own" our shadows. We'll also explore the particular relevance shadow work has at this pivotal time in human history.
The rewards of shadow work are great, and we'll celebrate them all: wholeness,  enhanced self-love, and an ability to walk more consciously, comfortably and lovingly among our fellow beings and on the Earth.

In traditional indigenous cultures, children were welcomed into the world by loving communities that helped them to find and to fill their own unique places in the world. In modern western culture, the medicalization of birth, the loss of community and multiple stressors on families have left many of us without a true sense of belonging to the world.  Join us as we create a loving community to enthusiastically, joyously, heart-fully welcome each participant and to acknowledge the gifts each brings to the community of the Earth.
